VetchVetch
Equine & large animal

For the practice that doesn’t have a building.

Ambulatory equine, mixed-animal, dairy and beef herd work. Vetch is the truck cab — route, charge, dictate, sync — designed for gravel roads and one-bar service.

A Tuesday on the road

Five farms before lunch.

Cell service comes and goes. The truck doesn't. Vetch runs the same offline as on.

  1. 5:48a
    Pre-route
The day loads on the dashboard tablet.
Route auto-sequenced by farm distance + appointment window. Truck stock checked against the day's likely meds.
Vetch · Pulled tomorrow's Coggins clients. Drafted the day's herd-health invoices for Buchholtz Dairy from last visit.
  2. 7:30a
    Hollow Creek
    Sundance — prepurchase + radiographs.
Rads synced from the digital plate, attached to the chart over LTE — owner gets the certified PDF before you leave the barn.
  3. 9:15a
    Buchholtz
12 preg checks, dictated as you palpate.
No phone in your hand. Bluetooth headset → Vetch → individual cow records.
Vetch · 11 confirmed pregnant, 1 open. Re-check queued for 30 days. Bill draft to dairy office, ready to send when you hit signal.
  4. 10:50a
    Emergency
Boomer · choke · Mira Trail.
Owner texts a video. You read the vitals as you walk in.
Vetch · Estimate drafted from species + complaint. SMS to Dani ready (last visit was ACH, she'll likely accept).
  5. 12:30p
    Floats
    Four horses, sedation tracked.
Each animal gets its own pre-sed weight, dose, and recovery time-stamp — DEA log reconciles back to the truck.
  6. 4:30p
    Charts done
You're back at the truck. Charts are done.
Every visit is signed, billed, and emailed. The dictation never made it to a spreadsheet — it went straight into the chart.
Built for the pickup-truck practice

The things ambulatory actually needs.

Offline

Works without a signal

Every screen functions in airplane mode. Records, schedules, dictation, charges queue locally and sync the moment you cross into bars.

Routing

Sequenced by drive time

The day auto-orders by farm distance and time window. Drag to override. Drives are a first-class line item — mileage tracked per call.

Hands-free

Dictate via headset

Bluetooth mic → Vetch → SOAP. Designed for the palpation bar, the crush, the stocks. No tablet in your gloved hand.

Herd

Herd-level workflows

Bulk preg checks, vaccinate-the-string, bull soundness. Per-animal records when needed, herd-level invoicing always.

Forms

Coggins, health certs, USDA

EIA, interstate, and brand-inspection forms generated from the chart. State-specific routing built in. No PDF gymnastics.

Truck stock

Inventory on the truck

Each rig is its own location. Vetch subtracts at the call, flags reorders, and reconciles DEA-controlled drugs against the truck log.

The honest comparison

What the road feels like, before and after.

Before Vetch
Charts are paper in a tray on the passenger seat. Re-typed at 9pm.
Cell drops at the back forty. The PMS app freezes. You start over.
Coggins forms are a half-hour at the kitchen table.
“Did I bill Dani for the Bute?” — you don't remember by Friday.
Bulk preg checks logged on a clipboard, transcribed Saturday.
Truck stock is whatever was there Monday. Reorder is a guess.
With Vetch
You dictate in the stocks. The chart writes itself.
Offline is the default. Sync is automatic when bars come back.
Coggins generates from the chart. Owner gets the PDF before you leave.
Vetch cross-checks the chart against the invoice. Bute's on there.
Per-cow records during the run. Herd invoice at the end. One press.
Each truck is its own location. Stock subtracts in real time. Reorders trigger.
Field-grade

Pickup-truck reality, regulator-grade output.

An equine PMS that flunks at the barn isn't a PMS. Vetch was built around a fenceline — offline tolerance, hands-free dictation, cell-aware sync — without giving up the audit trail your state vet, your DEA, and your insurer expect.

  • Offline-first architecture · 30 days of un-synced calls supported
  • DEA-controlled drug logs reconcile to the truck, not just the clinic
  • EIA / Coggins / USDA APHIS exports validated by state
  • Brand-aware mileage and per-call drive billing
  • SOC 2 Type II + HIPAA BAA · works in low-bandwidth and 1-bar regions

Migration

Coming from AVImark, ImproMed, ezyVet, or paper + Excel? 3–5 weeks.

Mobile migrations are simpler — fewer workstations, more trucks. We onboard each rig with its own tablet and stock catalog, import client/horse records and Coggins history, and shadow your first three route days. Old PMS stays read-only for 90 days.

Honest answers.

Truly offline. The whole app — schedule, records, dictation, charging, forms — runs locally for up to 30 days without a sync. When signal comes back, the merge is automatic and conflict-free.

The truck runs the practice.

Ride along virtually — see a real route day with an ambulatory vet on the call.
